At this scale media consumption is a line item rather than a detail. A blast room processing plate all day converts a measurable tonnage of media into dust, and the durability of the media is therefore a direct operating cost rather than a specification nicety.
Dust is the second cost, and it is the one that hides. Fines load the filters, degrade the working mix and reduce visibility in the cabinet, so a medium that breaks down early costs more than its unit price difference through the extraction system.
