Selecting a self-dumping hopper
The latch mechanism is the product; everything else is a steel box with fork pockets.
A self-dumping hopper tips when it reaches the discharge point and re-latches automatically when it is set down. That sequence means the operator never leaves the seat and never stands between a loaded container and a forklift.
A hopper that has to be released by hand puts a person exactly where the design exists to keep them out of. If a quotation does not describe the latch mechanism, it is describing a box.
Volume is chosen against what fills it in a shift and what the forklift can lift when full. A hopper sized to the waste stream but beyond the truck's capacity at full load is a hopper that gets emptied half full, which wastes the trips it was bought to save.
