Centrifugal pumps
Single stage single suction pumps in vertical inline and horizontal close coupled form, with versions for clean water, hot water, high temperature, oil transfer and corrosive duty.
Vertical inline and horizontal close coupled are the same hydraulic idea in two footprints. An inline pump sits in the pipe run and takes almost no floor space, which is what a plant room with a congested slab needs; a close coupled horizontal pump sits on a base and is easier to reach for maintenance.
The version matters more than the form. A pump for clean water, one for hot water circulation, one for high temperature service, one for oil transfer and one for corrosive media differ in seal, in material and in how much they tolerate running near their limit, and those differences are not visible in a performance curve.
So send the duty point and the medium rather than a model number. Flow and head narrow the hydraulic selection; the liquid, its temperature and whether it carries solids decide the seal and the material, and those are the two questions that actually determine whether the pump is still running in three years.
