What a document package should contain
On a regulated plant the paperwork is part of the equipment, and asking for it after the order is too late.
For a simple pump the documents are short: certificate of origin, material certificate and a test report. For a system on a regulated site the list is considerably longer, and it should be agreed before the order rather than requested after it.
The drawing set covers the general design specification, a general arrangement drawing, a P&I diagram with parts list, and electrical and pneumatic diagrams with parts lists. These are what allow a plant to maintain the equipment rather than merely operate it.
The qualification set covers design qualification, installation and operational qualification protocols and a factory acceptance test. These are what allow a regulated plant to put the equipment into service at all, and they take time to produce, which is why they affect the lead time as well as the price.
Alongside those sit the certificates: material test certificates for wetted parts, calibration certificates for critical instruments, copies of pressure vessel certificates where relevant, and manuals and certificates for bought-out items. Ask for the full list at enquiry stage; a supplier who cannot produce it is telling you something about the order that follows.
